The last week we have been having fun catching largemouths on deep weed lines with jerk baits and jig and craw. Yesterday was a little slower but still managed limits and for the most part quality fish. Nothing five pounds yet but close with two in the range yesterday. Each presentation had it share of larger fish but my largest landed was on a jig but I lost a real nice fish beside the boat on the jerk Bait. I had just cut the trebles from my shirt and then hooked the bigger fish ( I never use a net ). Thought the full moon yesterday would be the big day but I guess we still have some time left . The bay at northport was in the mid sixties in the morning and upper later in the day and the water level is dropping fast.

Sunday afternoon launched at the Ferry and tested out the south shore to the point to see if any hogs had started coming in yet. water temp 67.5 to 68. wasn't expecting much and got what I expected. landed one small walleye about a pound on a green reef runner on the planer board. Marked a lot of fish down deep near bottom around 120 feet in the middle and switched over to downriggers and spoons for a while, thinking they were lakers, but no luck.

Not much to report here... This year has been brutal to say the least, for us anyway. We have caught quite a few nice ones in the area, but just not in the bay. Spent the majority of our time fishing musky due to poor fishing on quinte. Even this spring wasn't all that great for us. The fish that are usually on the weedlines where we expect them haven't been there. hoping a change in the weather will mix things up a bit. I haven't seen a year like this in a long time.. too many sheeps and not a lot of anything else unfortunately. At least the water has cooled off quite a bit...

Big ass sheepy today and that was it, myself and Always Hopeful spent 3.5 hr trolling Thompson's area. Winds were fine with a nice small chop and then smoothed out after 6.
