Quinte Fishing

I was talking to IceMan last Weekend and he mentioned the Toronto Zoo Board. I hadn't visited it for a LONG while, so decided to have a gander.

The general discussion section had a thread about the fishing stores in Toronto. I had posted that Barclays was closing, well, they're not the only ones.

Hook and Tackle in Missassauga(SP) is closing as well as Pollacks.

BSP is taking its toll.

I think it's to soon for these closes to be attributed to Bass Pro. It's a struggle to keep these stores open, very low profit margin to begin with.

I know for myself I would make the odd trip out to barklays once a year maybe from the toronto area. But it really wasn't worth it, their prices weren't that great to begin with.

I think it was more they were on the way out anyways. Or maybe it was partly do to a premature expectation that BPS is going to close them down.

I don't think that a lot of people are going to make the drive all the way from Oshawa and further for a normal trip to the tackle store. You know the one I mean when you just pop in quickly to look at the lures and maybe by one or 2. Then you end up buy a rod or something big when your not supposed to LOL!
