My buddy and I are heading up for a week, this Saturday coming up...

You guys think we'll be doing some ice breaking?

Finding the fish wont be a problem....just worried about not being able to fish....

The bay doesn't 'normally' freeze over till the end of Dec correct?

We've been waiting for a long time for this trip....We are both just finishing our Finals this week.

Steve

The forecast looks fine so far. I am hoping for the 18th/19th to get a last kick at the can

I was breaking ice coming back to the ramp Sunday night (12/5). Ice was forming in front of the cement plant, and the lower end of Picton bay was almost frozen across. Granted, air temps were -7 to - 9 deg C, and fairly light winds. I believe there is a warming trend this week so everything should be okay. But, if there is a calm wind and temps below freezing, it won't take much for the top water surface to freeze over.

I wish somebody could have taken a picture of me as I watched my in-line board riding on top of ice that night. It was a long ride in.
