I was just there 20 min ago , guy working there said there is plans to put in a 20ft floating dock as well (when they can afford it). Looks like we lost some parking, there are no parking anytime signs up near the lower end on the right hand side going in. No gates up so it can be used.

what a complete joke the city has turned this into.
should have known the city was going to fudge up another simple project like this
so glad i dont pay taxes towards the city of kingston (loyalist township resident).

pretty sad that small little communities like Napanee and Deseronto have what i think amazing launches with parking, double ramps, stable and safe docking, and amenities like washrooms etc.

WAY TO GO Kingston, you again have dropped the ball on this...clap clap

a ramp in amherstview area would be great!

its a good spot with proximity between the bay of quinte and the big lake towards downtown kingston and the islands of course.
recently last summer, they put in a chip truck which brought a lot of folks to the one park off bath road (Fairfeild park)

i am not sure if even the reeve of Loyalist Township, Bill Lowry, even knows that there is interest in a public boat ramp for the area. a concern there MAY be parking, but if they do it the same layout that at Finkle Park, would be a great start.

I may send an email and possibly start an online petition and maybe we can spark some conversation with the township. we can add in the amount of pre fishing done for local events, also the poker run attractions plus regular boat traffic could bring dollars into amherstview to the local stores.

will try to see what we can do

When they can afford it? Taxes in this city have continuously gone up not to mention mpac reassement across the city that doubled the housing values within the last 10 - 12 years. That means on top of the rate increases we all got hit with up to a 100% increase. Would love to see a chart that shows total taxes collected per year over the last 12 years. They sure spent a lot of money on bike lanes that are always empty.

Shouldn't we wait till they say they are done before ripping into the job they did. There are still additional pieces planned, future money is allotted so give them the benefit of time. It's a free dock and free parking that generates no income on its own.

Napanee isn't much better to be honest. They took the only ramp in town and allowed the Riverfront Bar to completely take over the parking lot. Then block off the second ramp with concrete dividers so the Bar could rent frigging paddleboats. So if you launch and fish for a few hours after work or on a weekend, good luck getting your truck and trailer manoeuvered around all the car's from the Bar in the afternoon or evening. Well done Napanee.

I would support a ramp in Amherstview, just hope it is sheltered if they build one.
