Laker John and I felt Sunday was going to be a better day to venture out and try again for those elusive walleyes.
We were both right as Sunday was a spectacular day, No wind and a warm sun, even though the temp didn't go past plus 2 degs C.
We began to trolling middle Hay Bay for an hour and a quarter with nothing to show but wet lures. Decided to head east of the ferry, a 20 minute ride or so and we set out four rods and trolled the north shore almost to the lighthouse, turning westward we trolled up the centre and edged close to the Keith Shoal buoy and finishing off by Three Amigos Shoal.
Had to stop at the ferry launch for a pit stop and talked to a couple boats, they had nothing to shjow for their days also. One of the guys asked if we heard about the big fish caught on Sat? No, we hadn't - what was it?
He said someone landed one that weighed in at 17lb 2 oz... Holy Cow!!!!!!!!
Does anyone have any more info on this one?
Our score was no score - we have had two trips with skunky results - guess that seems to be par for the fishing.
Water Temp in Hay Bay was 41.7 deg F and the temp in Adolphus Reach was 47.6 degs - That's a large difference.
Will try again - Stay Tuned.
