Quinte Fishing

Happy New Year. Though you would not know it is January with this weather.

My wife and some friends took a drive up hwy 15 last weekend from Kingston to Smiths Falls. Along the way I noticed flocks of small birds with white undersides. These I do not see here in Burlington. Though small they were very quick, agile birds. Would any one have an ID on these?

On a side note, while driving by the Otter Lake boat ramp we had the opportunity to watch a bald eagle hover then splash down and get his lunch. That was a cool sight.

Sounds like they were snowbirds ! Were they in small flocks of 15-20 ?

Thanks for the quick replies. As for walleye. Nope. We stopped at our trailers on Big Bay at Shannonville. Didn't see anyone out there in the 4 ft waves.
I think it will be a while before it freezes.

Yeah I would say snowbirds as well, there are a bunch of them around here to. There is also a couple of bald eagles hanging around here for the last few years also, there use to be three of them but have only seen the two for the last year. ( here meaning south side of Mohawk bay across the bay from deseronto)

yup snowbuntings !!!! lots of them around the fields in the kawarthas are seen a flock of about 20 the other day !!!!!
