started fishing at 4 am had to break ice to get out of inner picton bay
got 1 29'by 18.5' then nothing till daylight when the sun cam up
the started to hit we boated over 12 fish smallest 27 by17 the largest
31 by19.5 and we even lost afew was fishing with 2 frends that dont fish much they loved it the fish we got were deep and they were hiting
flashey &sparkely baits green orange andpink

Dave you must have been fishing near us . We were there also and did well. Dark red Princecraft with Honda tiller. We drifted & trolled. We picked some up drifting with Victor spoon & worm. What a thrill catching those hogs drifting, not trolling. Plus we got a nice Pike

we were in the blue and grey lund with the mercs on the back
it a good day iwould have stayed longer but my freind suprised me
with a ive got to be at work at 4 this after noon
so we were off the water at 11 ish
we did not try drifting
ill beout next wendsday if picton is iced over were can i launch??

Dave If I could go down again and the harber was froze in. I would try the lauch on the right side of the bay going towards the Ferry. There is a small park there. I don't no the name. Make sure you take some salt.

The launch is in the conservation area on the left side as you go toward the ferry. But is has a deep drop off at the end of the cement pour. Not a big problem launching your boat but when you delaunch the wheel of the trailer is in this hole and can be a problem getting the boat and trialer back out unless you have a lot of power in your vehicle. Also if you have a cross wind it is very tough to get the boat back on the trailer straight as there is no wharf there to provide wind protection on line-up. But go see for yourself, it may be fine if you have a small outfit. Last time I used it, I got the boat on crooked and could not dislodge it; it was riding up on the side bunker. I trailered slowly to Picton; launched and and delaunched again to get the boat on properly.
