Hey everyone, I've lurked around here for years but after today I thought it was time to join and spread a message. I had made a call to a few charter operators and was told that Quinte wasn't ready yet....

I came down to belleville on Sunday and tried to get out on big bay to no avail! I was finally able to fish at potters creek but the ice was literally eroding away in front of my eyes. I weigh 145 lbs and it was cracking and water coming through the holes has I walked by them. This morning I decided to try the long reach / Sherman area

I went through up to my thigh at Sherman's about 75 yards out I had measured but less than 20 arises I was wet :| after this incident I decided red barn, it was here I put both legs through! I'm very appreciative of the guys who were close by and helped me out!!

I really should have heeded the advice that the ice was not ready, I feel lucky and I hope this info helps someone else.

Scary man, I went through at potters Saturday morning about half way across as well. Scariest thing tomever happen. Imtried warning everyone in the parking lot but many people went right out. Most had floater coats on so im sure they would have been fine. Let me know if you find any good ice, im dying to get out, but not gnna die just to get out.
