Buddy heater sizing

I bought a 2-3 man pop up this year. Need to buy a Buddy heater would like to stay as compact as possible. Would the little buddy be sufficient? (Fat fish 767 apx 40sq ft.) I don't need t-shirt weather but would like to be able to get it warmed up on the real cold days.

Do you mean the tank top one?
I guess if you do not want it really warm I just like to be able to take my coat off and be warm still lol

I have a little buddy heater and it heats up my pop up hut just fine.

Go with the buddy heater the mid size one it's better to have enough heat than not.

i like my med sized buddy for my Clam Nanook 2 man, but when in -30 or colder up north, i also use my backup simple 1 burner.

Also, it's good to have the single burner as a backup if you're deep in the bush. I've had 2 hoses blow on my Mr. Buddy, and two other malfunctions i couldn't figure out, so the little single burner was nice to have - puts out almost as much heat.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like it's worth the upgrade. I Found the "Mr. Heater camo" (12000btu) online at tsc for $100. Ordering now.

That will be lots of heat its got another 3000 more btu then the mid size buddy heater

That size is perfect BUT for some reason I've heard that particular model (camo) has had issues. Hang on to that receipt.

Whichever route ya go I would suggest a 5+lb tank and line it costs a bit more a start but man them lbers add up fishing every weekend lol

I've Never had a problem with my camo buddy heater. I would suggest getting a 5lb tank an hose also

x's two, the filter will be a welcome addition if not a must. I run a Big buddy in mine on low and it is more then adequate also put a grate on it and use it to cook. An 11 lb tank will last me an average of 5 full days on the ice and cost $10.00 to fill. If using the Commando and want to cut weight I will just run it on the two 1 lb tanks built in.

If you get the 5lber always take a full 1lb out in case. on a few really cold -20+ days a couple times i've had my hose or tank freeze up 3/4 the way through the day.
