Horrible bad bad ice its great where there is not snow but an inch under neath the drifts and there is so many drifts its very hard to get to the couple gd holes that are there
..a buddie did okay the other day but was fiahing three inches of ice only to what would be called gd ice not even great and took him hr and a half to spud his way zigzaging around to get to the edge of the drop even

I fished there on sat and got skunked but the ice is fine about 1inch of crusty white ice on top and 5 0r 6 inches under it.

Half the ice is garbage other half is gd and where there is anow piles its very thin.. Its not consistant yet at all. Ya there deff is five in some spots with two being garbage ice..then a snowdrift twenty ft away is an inch... And this week will get real bad out there.. I know that water very well i fish it and consecon daily

hey captain, I have fished wellers for 3 years now we had good fishing 3 years ago when the water was very clear, but last year and this year the water is more murky and we havent been having good luck, do you by chance know why the water has changed

If anyone is out on wellars today could you give me a ice report for the south shore, I'm hoping to get out there tomorrow. I'm heading from courtice so it would be nice to find out ahead of time what the conditions are. Thanks a bunch!

I fished there Saturday off of Smokes point. There was a good 5-6 inches as stated above.
It was cloudy like last year, the year before that was some of the best ice fishing ever.
I'm not sure where there's only 1 inch of ice though.
