Quinte Fishing

We appreciate all you folks calling to inquire about Ice Conditions and hope this answers some of your questions. I haven't had a chance to check the ice for myself but after comparing notes with some other local operators today our Parking Lot will remain CLOSED. The Store and Bait Shop will be OPEN at 6:00 AM on Family Day for anyone wanting bait or tackle.

With the mild weather of the past two weeks the bay opened up from Foresters Island to about 300 or 400 yards west of Buoy Q42 (The Red Buoy out from County Shores) It finally refroze this past Tuesday and Wednesday night and we were hopeful that this last deep freeze would give us "Fishable Ice" ... but it hasn't ... Yet! The Reports that I have been getting back about ice conditions in places that generally have better ice than we do have lead me to keep the Parking Lot closed for awhile longer yet. I have heard reports that there are people fishing off Big Island but I have no idea about the ice conditions there.

This really sucks ,but safety first in my book. Thanks for the honest report..Big change from the old days going out of Fosters when it was all about making a dollar and not a worry about the safety of the ice anglers. You run a class operation there now.Keep up the good work. Cheers and hope to see you soon..
