So I was thinking of making my first trip to BOQ next week for some ice fishing. I wanted some advice from locals out there as to how the conditions are and if it's worth the 3 hour drive. I looked through Gg the existing threads and don't see much as to current conditions on the ice but I saw a lot of hut rentals are not operating so I'm worried it'll be a wasted trip without the ability to get on fish able ice. Thanks in advance and tight lines

Good luck, you will be hard pressed to get any response here from the 'locals' I too am 4 hrs away, I am heading up later today for the weekend. Shoot me a message and I will let you know the conditions where I am and you can make your decision from there. I will tell you, the weekend before last, the Ice was a solid 6-7" and fishing was stellar, however we had that weeklong warm spell, and I am a bit concerned with the conditions at shore. I will know later today. With these cold temps I think it will be fine.

There will be lots of fish able ice around the Bay of Quinte next week (There's guys out right now at Potters and has been for a while). There will also be some sketchy spots...

all im gonna say is if you come don't trust what people tell you is good ice. Trust your Spud and spud only and make your call whether you think its safe or not

Just got back from Potters creek.

There is 5" to 7" 3/4 way to the green can, at least in the straight line i went in. A couple of fellows marked a trail out to their group of huts. Stick to that and you should be fine. I didn't go any further, but the ice was good black ice, one other fellow went almost to the green can farther than myself, but i didn't talk to him. Got perch all day, then 8 and 9lb near dark. There was also an ATV out there
