the mouth of the trent river

I tried the mouth of the trent river sunday afternoon. there was a strong current by the green bouy where we fished. ice should stay good for a few days, i drilled holes as i went (walked out from centennial park) and there was about 5inches in all the spots i drilled.

I've never had luck with the high current and it makes my Vex pretty much useless.

a 3lb eye on a large jigging rap and that was the only bite of the afternoon. its always a prime time bite at the mouth (4:00-Dark) i dont have a flasher yet but i would try more towards the bay then the river from the green bouy next time and hope there is less current.

There's a bad pressure crack there now. A buddy fell through last night. 5 feet beside where he fell through the ice was fine. I would stay away! Also the shoreline behind sewage plant is not safe either. Please stay away from mouth of the river.

There was a guy fishing out from the boat ramp at arena this afternoon.I think he has a death wish.
