I was talking to a guy on BOQ and saw that he had three beautiful fish on the ice. As we talked more and more, he nailed another gorgeous fish...this one was better than 9lbs. As he brought it through the whole, I saw he had a minnow and a piece of pepperoni on one of the trebles (I thought it was some bark or something at first). I had to ask as I have never seen anyone use pepperoni as something to attract fish. Has anyone else heard of this...I would not have believed it until I saw it myself. He got them from the frozen food place in town.

Give you an interesting idea I have used myself to catch some fantastic Pike. If you have ever heard of a Spider Hot dog at the campground apply this same technique to fishing. Splice your hot dog so it ends up with 8 legs and a solid place for a hook in the middle. Caught fish on it. Great for a tip up with a small amount of current.

Have used KFC skins on the bay, behind the hospital to catch catfish a couple of times.

That day I didn't catch any fish, as the pineapple was mine, the dried fruit mix I brought along to munch on had pineapple, and I don't like it. Tim did put it to good use.
Cheers Rob

If you don't catch anything and you're hungry - at least the bait is edible!

It is always interesting hearing of different baits. It is also a time honoured tradition in many places to sometimes play tricks with assorted baits, that may or may not be productive.

I had a buddy of mine using pepperoni for an evening small mouth fish years ago back in New Brunswick, he was having great luck with it.
