Probably wont see if this approach works until after the fall salmon run.....if not council will "try" to implement some of their other proposed solutions.(although the MNR "didn't seem" to favor most of these at the fall meeting, they did suggest...or allow... the following approach.

On a side note, the initial stocking number for this year on Atlantics in the Ganaraska seems to be somewhere in the area of seventy thousand.http://www.1079thebreeze.com/index.php/ ... tic-salmon

This is encouraging to hear. Even a token amount of enforcement can make a difference.

It would be nice to see other areas with higher density populations or higher profile fisherys have this, across the country. Bravo MNR and OPP.

This is an excellent program and solution!!!
Port Hope police will be covering the waters south of Corbett's to lake Ontario 24/7 for the entire month of September
MNR will be responsible for the waters north of Corbett's
I think this will make a huge impact on the overall fishing etiquette for ALL fisherman

As I understand it, All OPP are able to enforce MNR regulation infractions anytime. The problem is with time and budget.

The better the management of the resource, the better for all involved, including the resource itself.

Like it or not. Good idea, 'cause it can get to be be a real gong show without sufficient oversight, as we see it everyday.

I LOVE reporting poachers. Take a video, get a licence plate, get a witness. Job well done buddy.
