When we crossed the Centre St bridge just after lunch, we noticed a large boat up by the rapids upstream from the bridge.

We are nosy, so we drove over and talked to the MNR personnel on the boat. They were electro-seigning and had some fish in their tanks.

The comments were, " A lot of males around" and "the temp is about 4 degs C"

Always glad to see MNR on the water.

Looks like the water has warm up quite a bit.

You were lucky to see them, they were in and out in a hour or less. Boy does that boat have power heading up and down the Napanee river. Thanks for the update I was wondering what they were up to. D

That is great to hear that an electrocrew were on the Napanee River. I would love to know what they observed.

I wish, pray, hope that someday the nearby Salmon River will be given some attention. Seasonally, it routinely has some surprises, with no tests or serious study done to the best of my knowledge. Historically it is said to have had Atlantic salmon, with some salmonoids, trout coming every year; the big question for me has always been the true, legitimate survivability of any young, noting there are a few springs and a few holes that support fish below Forest Mills. Heck a college could have a field day and do some good community work, if the provincial coffers do not support it.

The hatchery in Napanee does not do walleye at the present time. It is fully equipped to do so.
