Launched off the side of the road along that A bay about 9:00 am sunday.
Trolled up and around that point and along the sand too. Lovely day, could even see
land all the way across the Lake, maybe even to where Landshark's been fish'n too ?
Was thinking of paddling over there, but decided a bit far.

Nothing happening, water pretty clear, a few boats out. Lovely day, really could not complain.
Finally at 1:00 pm get a strike on a stick, near the rocks on the point. Proceed to reel it in and see it's about an 18" brown but then I knock the hooks off of it with the net, before a pic ! It got away.

Worked the area some more and even tried deeper for a laker.
Decided to head in and at about 50 yards from truck, get a good whack on my fav. stick again. Didn't feel decent at first,
but as he got closer, he bull dogged more and then gave a few good runs. Right on ! Decent fight from a decent buck!

Good getting a wave from you Millartime.

Think I saw you out there Superdad. Was great shaking the hand of a superhero
at the Des. gas station. Have enjoyed your reports for years.

Brent :)

Tell me, do you think a person could get away with this (on a flat day) with a sit on top kayak? Looks like a lot of fun.

Sure.
Know of 3 others that have been out already on yaks.
However when the water is still cold, best to be with a buddy and have appropriate clothing on.
I wear drypants with built in socks, paddle jacket with cuffs ( had just taken it off before pic. ), and under layers.
Always got to be ready for a quick re-entry if you turtle.
