I'm surpised there are no reports from Deseronto,

Until the rain the ice was good with 4-6 inches of solid
ice.

I fished monday night between 4-5. Maybe a dozen
guys out. Saw 2-11 lbers caught 10 feet from me.
Probably a dozen fish were caught in the hour. None
for me.

There were reports that Monday morning was hot with
one group of anglers catching a dozen walleye themselves.

Fished Tuesday morning between 7-11. Another dozen
guys out. I got two 22 inch fish on the ice between 8 and
8:30. In the slot, so I released them. Still felt good to catch
fish. Saw another half dozen fish caught by others.

Fished Wednesday morning between 8:30 and 10. I waited
for my fishing partner at Flying-J from 6:45 til 8. He slept in.
Had one hit but nothing to show. There were many fish on
the ice. Report was they were all caught between 7 and 8.

Did see a Bald Eagle though, highlight of the morning. Cool.

There were at least a couple dozen anglers out Wed morning.

This rain could make this area very dangerous. Take care.

Caught my fish in 24 feet of water on green Hopkins spoon
with 2 minnows. Put Aqua-Vu camera down. The current was
quite strong at the time. Could easily see spoon five feet
away but only with camera lights on. The strong current causes
what appear to be air or silt passing by. Its hard to imagine
how the fish can see a spoon down there. The water cleared up
about 10 feet off the bottom. Didnt see any fish though. All
fish seem to be caught right on bottom. Fish must hone in on
vibrations or flash from lures. It was like fishing in Pea Soup.

Good luck,

Batman, sounds like ya got into some eh, I have not made it out yet, X-mas and such, got everything ready to go now but I'm a little cautious of the ice after the rain. Maybe next wk.

Well, vacation is over. Spent the day on Rock lake today
north of Kingston. 10" splake were plentiful. The ice appeared
to be worse than Quinte conditions 2 days before. This thaw
was not good.

I hope this week cools down so it builds ice on Quinte again.

10" splake are fun to pass the time, but a 35" walleye would be
better.

Used the underwater camera with splake. The camera was 10 feet
from my lure and I could see easily in 20 feet of water. The camera
light was not required and the small splake are not spooked by its
presents. The camera didnt help me catch more fish in this case. The
splake were very hungry today. They would inhale the minnow just
about every time. Cool.

Good report Batman,

I've been away from the area over the holidays, so it's all news to me.

Looks like there was rain and more rain while I was gone.

Today (Sunday) loks like a disaster to be on the roads.

Hope it gets colder to solidy the ice.
