Does anyone have any experience with these?
I am looking at installing the MK 80 / EM on my 1700 Fisherman. I have a 150 VMAX on it, so I am hoping it will mount properly.
I already have a bow mount trolling motor but am thinking of the times I am trolling for lakers or walleye.
Thanks

Kevin at Merland Park had one of these units on his boat.

I have fished with a ton of guys that have them and frankly....I don,t get them. Your way better off with a bow mount .Better boat control and less weight

I agree with the last post. I think your way better off with a bow mount. I have I Pilot and troll with mine all the time. Works great.

I use a trolling motor mounted on my transom of my 14" tinny and love being able to stay on my seat to troll, move to another nearby spot, or to zip to another bay without having to go back and forth and from bow to transom all day. All my tackle, etc is under my seat. My gas tank has a long tube so I can keep it near the bow to balance the boat. Transom mount is better for smaller boat and bow mount for larger, and yours is in between but I would recommend transom mount or convenience.

knew someone who had one on his 90 merc, and on choppy days motor kept coming out of the water. bow mount is the better option in my opinion

Thanks for the feedback.
I currently have a bow mount but with the weight of the motor and my rather bulky stature it tends to ride out of the water when I am in the back trying to get my rods ready for trolling or down rigging.
I have an 8 hp merc currently that I put on but the issue with it is the shaft is too short and don't quite get enough push out of the motor. A 9.9 or 15 long shaft would be good but need to dump the 8 hp first if I go that route.
Again, thanks for the input.
