So as like most folks, i spent the weekend trolling around the bay dragging cranks behind the boat
i was using the larger Husky Jerk, don't worry, i didn't pound them on it so its no secret lure! :)
Anyways, i was fishing them and i could feel the wobble of the bait while holding the rod trolling. then, all of a sudden, it wouldn't wobble no more. i thought okay, i got some weeds on it. reel it in. no weeds. no fish. no junk on it. then i notice..NO LIP on the crank? WTH...okay, so flick my light on to inspect my lure more. The lip off the crank came clean right out the lure.

any one else have any issues with this? its not like the bait was smashed by a walleye and broke off, or touched bottom and it broke in half or something, the lip just came right out of the lure

THIS HAPPENED ON TWO BAITS!
grr! at over 10 dollars a bait it was very frustrating on two brand new out of the box lures

Rant end.

Marco

yah, just send them a pic...they'll replace....for Rapala that is easier than addressing the QC issues they are having...from flaking paint to breaking lips....

but they still make lures that catch fish....

The J11/J13 and the Taildancers simply catch fish...

Sent them an email. Told me to mail
Them the lures less the hooks. Sounds like they are going to take care of the issue!

Rapala always take care of their customers.

I've started using their R Type Trolling rods this year and I find their build quality to be quite good, as are the components.

If you can find the Rapala lures that were made in Estonia, they are quite good. Much better quality than the same lures made in Malaysia.

Same thing last year, I sent them an email at info@normarkcanada.com and here was their reply:

"Please remove the hooks and return the lure by mail to our service centre at:
Normark Inc.
1350 Phillip Murray Ave
Oshawa ON L1J6Z9"

I sent them back and had new lures in no time. It's too bad they aren't as tough as they used to be, but at least I got great customer Service.
