Last night while fishing we spotted a dangerous dead head in approx. 14 feet of water about 300 yards off the tip of grape island roughly in the direction of big island shoal, on my system N44 07.505 W77 17.658 it is a large log that has driven into the bottom and is about a foot above the surface. If we had hit it we would have been in big trouble. I had nothing to mark it with, I will email the coast gaurd as well. I am sure the log was not floating based on how the waves were splashing over it and the angle.

Weird, I have fished and duck hunted that area for about 15 years and have never noticed/seen this. Even with real low water levels.

Thanks for posting.

Scout,

Thanks for the warning. I run this area regularly and appreciate your report.
