Dad and I launched the boat Saturday morning at Sherman's boat ramp and headed towards the point. Trolled there for approx 15 minutes and had our first keeper in the box. Great way to start the morning. Trolled for about and hour after that with nothing to show for it so we ran down towards the green bouy at greens point. Tried there for a solid hour with nothing to show for it. Stopped on the way back at the hogsbacks threw on some cranks and started trolling the deeper water. After trolling for 20 minutes bam the board fires off and we have a fish on. I get to the back of the boat release the board off the line. And I heard the famous words. Well it was a good fish but it's gone. And that was the ending to our morning.

That evening we headed out on the flats using our always go lucky. Lucky strike victor spoons. We trolled from 4:30. -7:30. Between 4 of us we caught 15 great eating walleye our biggest was 4.72. Great night on the water.
This morning we got the dock at 6:30 back at the flats. Slower this morning. But we manage another 4 in 2 hours fishing. And of course the hammer head pike and sunfish and perch kept us busy all the time out there.

Going back out tonight. But not sure on the destination in mind yet for this evening.

Hope everything is having a great long weekend on the water

Where are the flats? (yes I'm a newbie) Do you bait your spoons?

Two of us bottom bounced Sherman's point early no luck, then we trolled 20-30" towards Ram island with bottom bouncers and cranks (different depths) caught two eyes just big enough to keep but we let them go. Jigged the south and east side of Ram island, no luck.

5:30am to 11am

ps.
Nice post.

The flats is the lower end of hay bay. The lucky strike victor spoon is a spinner with a single hook.

If you are out county Rd 9, the dew drop in is full of them. All different colours. Cheaper than Canadian tire as well.

We fished the flats Sunday night as well and got 6 more. Brought the kids there Monday at 11:00am fished until 2:30. We managed 3 more few more pike and of course the pan fish. It was an excellent weekend on the water
