Haven't fished for the past 2 years due to a lung operation. Any suggestions as to where I might catch a walleye in the BOQ, tried trolling and bottom fishing for the last 14 times, nothing to show for except sunfish and small perch. It is very frustrating not to catch any walleye. Any advice would be appreciated. I purchased a 16.2 Smoker Craft in the fall and spent over $2,000 on motor repairs at Bayview Marine.
I keep reading about a church but don't know where it is in the BOQ.
Thank you in advance

Hey there Seadog

Have a look at the launch ramps on this website and you will find a couple on Hay Bay, hit it and it should tell you the Hay Bay Church on Hay Bay South. Another google search for the church and it will give directions.

You can launch there and begin fishing right away.

The weeds........

Hope you find the launch and the fish.

Not to be rude but 14 times on the BOQ without one walleye, you're doing something very wrong. Bottom bouncer and spinner with worm slow trolled 1km or less will get you walleye guaranteed. ldub

I think my problem was that I was fishing too deep. I also tried worm harnesses, blue fox spinners and trolled with different crank baits perch and shad colour even bought Super dad's spinners and fished with them no luck. Your right my luck has run out in more than one way.

On the weekend we fished with worm harnesses and lucky strike victor spoons in the weeds in 10-8' of water and we caught 27 walleye. Our biggest coming out at 6.23. Average fish were about 1.5lb. But the walleye are definitely in the cover. Troll fast enough that the spinners are working and you'll do just fine.

I'm with seadog. I haven't been out 14 times but I have been skunked countless times out near Sherman's point, Green point and Foster's island. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong also. Should I stick to the evening instead of the am? I've tried the all types of methods jigging the weeds, trolling the weeds, casting the weeds. I've only been fishing for two years and I'm not sure if it's technique or if I lack the instinct. Can Pickerel still be caught in the flats this time of year?

Anyway thanks and good luck out there!
