Quinte Fishing

Hi Fellow members,

Need your help and input where should I find a ramp to launch my kayak for walleye fish in Belleville or Trenton area. I am new in kayak so I have no experience for kayak fishing at BOQ,

Fishing from a Kayak is the only way to go in my humble opinion and the only way I have been fishing for at least the last ten years plus. It's a great experience. Anyway, in answer to your question, there are a lot of different places to drop in your yak. Trenton there is bain park, further east is the are right across from the conservation authority. You can drop in near the bridge at Belleville on both sides, Mississauga park on the south side of the bridge in the county, lots of different places. If you do a search here on the board, you should find a map for ice fishing that has a whole bunch of drop in spots.

Bay of Quinte can be a challenge for an inexperienced yakfisher. The wind can pick up pretty fast. Pick your days wisely.https://www.windfinder.com/ A great site for checking the wind. There is a link to a great map of all the launches at the top right on this forum page. Point Anne, Big Island, Desoronto,North Port, Hay Bay Church......etc...Lots of great places to kayakfish in this area.

when I go out on the bay with my yak ,I launch from north port in the county. It is a public launch and you can either fish the open water or stay in the small bay. There are walleye ,pike and if you go into Sprague lake you will encounter bass.
On the Belleville side I would recommend launching from Pointe Anne and go across to trident point, this route is wind dependant but you can hug the shoreline to get there. I launch my big boat from big island and the winds are a big factor on big bay. If you are looking for places to get used to yak fishing pm me and we can talk more, these areas are mainly bass but they are fun to catch from a yak
