Well, its that time of the year, perhaps slightly early, and with that comes Port Hopes most recent attempt at curbing illegal fishing. With last weeks rain ,some fish entered some of the local tributaries, seen some really fresh fish(Salmon) yesterday during a short walk, and you could smell it in the air. With the cooling temps and pending fall,I am planning on at least one Brook trout trip, also an excursion to Rice lake for walleye and may even chase some fall smallies around soon.At least one trip to Port Hope is also on my agenda....looking forward to my favorite time of the year.http://www.northumberlandtoday.com/2016 ... -port-hope

Also my favourite time of the year!!!
I am starting this weekend, now that the gosd is over you can actually launch your boat in port hope lol
Pick away at stagers for the next month from 30 fow to 100 fow 20 plus fish for the day are not uncommon
until the river guys show up then it can be a little challenging driving down the river out to the lake!!!
cheerz
