 Post subject: Water Levels on the Bay

Is the level of the water on the BOQ a yearly cycle?- in other words does the level always go real low in the fall of the year - it seems every time I fish there in the fall the level is down and launching the boat is often a challenge - does the level have something to do with the releases of water through a hydro plant on the St. Lawrence river? - or is it a natural thing because of the lower inflow from rivers feeding the Bay - thanks for your comments - Joe

The short answer is yes
Lake Ontario is always lowest Nov./Dec and always highest April/May
The difference is typicallt about 3 feet , 90 cm.
