If your lure says it's an 8ft-13ft depth lure or a 20ft-30ft depth lure and so on. How much line do you know to let out to achieve those depths for your lurers. Is there a lure to line out ratio? Just a thought but it would be nice if the lure packing gave a suggestive amount of line to let out to achieve a certain depth.

Sadly it greatly depends on the lure.
I highly suggest looking at the precision trolling app for iPhone or android. If you're just looking for max depth most seem to max out around 200-250 feet but it's not the same for each lure. It also depends on line size and type. For instance a lure will dive much more with 10lb fire line than it will with 30lb mono.

As well if you're using boards or straight lining, google for example tdd11 dive charts (highlight link below)

https://www.google.ca/search?q=tdd11+di ... 42&bih=580

and select images, you might find the lure you plan to use and either copy the image or the data. I have something like this printed and taped to my planos.
