well the competition was on sunday (oct30) as my girl-friend was fishing with her mom and dad and i joined my two buddys "FishWilly" and "Real Deal" in another boat. We started just as the sun came up at the light house and were marking lots. After an hour of nothing we powered to the gap again marking lots, so we set down and trolled for two good hours. Water temp was 56 at the light house and 57 at the gap. We still weren't having luck so we motored all the way back and set up at Thompsons Point. We did a south troll, then my girlfriend called and told me she was in the lead with just landing a nice 8lber just east of the ferry. Just as she netted the fish the outside board went off, but unfortunately they didnt hook up that fish. So i said to the boys "if you can't beat them you got to join them'. We finished our day just East of the ferry marking lots but ended up with 0 for 0 all day and a long drive home listening to my gf tell me how she is a better fisherwoman then me lol...as far as lures go i tried them all boys, and after a little convincing my girlfriend told me the secret - she caught on a "td11 perch pattern."
