Interesting. As I'm not a tournament bass angler I'm curious do they release the smallies from the thousand islands open and Kingston open by the ducks? If not would it be similar data in that those fish then stay in the river instead of going back to main duck.

As far as I've seen, the fish released from the 1000 and Kingston Open are not done so at the Ducks but close to the event, out in the channels or where there's cooler water.

I've read the report and my first question / thought was...is it really that bad if the fish stay in the Bay?

Personally, I've had terrible luck catching small mouth on Quinte and being that they're not invasive; at least that I know of, they seem to be living and swimming around well.

Cheers

Fascinating results!! But also supported what I had thought all along, that the fish stayed around Belleville. I have property down by the ferry (20yrs) and even the largemouth are taking a hit in size and numbers down this way. The effects of tournament fishing almost every weekend on the Bay is showing up. Event holders should try to move more to the Jack Links style tournament where the fish are caught and immediately weighed and released, not sloshed around in the live well for hours upon end. Think about other lakes like Rice... how many fish have been brought up to Bewdley over and over again!! Excellent study !!!
