Is it walkable? Pm me if you wouldnt mind. I know asking here is usually a waste of time but what the heck... its christmas. I know the spots, have an awesome spud, and know ice, just wondering if anyone can shed some light. Anyone out there today? Im headed down in the morning regardless.

With the rains all creeks rivers and water ways will be flowing more, cutting the ice from underneath. It takes a few days for the water flow to ease.

I fished trenton area a week and a half ago and there was 6". I havent been back but i saw some permanent huts out off bayside yesterday. I dont get what the big secret is here.....nobody wants to help anyone out. I drive from over an hour away to fish the bay, so a little heads up on how the ice is would be nice, but i still do the drive and check for myself.

Don't let it bother you sinker , The problem with sharing info is the spot you are giving info on will have 4 times the people the next day and if someone doesn't catch fish you are full of sh** , maybe the uneducated should realize that the schools of walleye move around and it's the old here today, gone tomorrow , there have been maps galore posted on this site so there are no secret spots , guy's wanting ice conditions should just check themselves or build a network of friends for better info . People have learned and been burned by posting in a general forum that is viewed by thousands , Fish for fun and be careful , If you are trying to build relationships try sending a Pm to any of the long time members you will have much better luck :D

Walked out from point Ann at 7:00am this morning. About 3.5 to 4 inches of black ice. Didn't seem super solid so we didn't go very far. Out to about 13 ft of water. Looked like a couple areas were open recently and then froze together in pieces. Stayed on ice I felt safe in. Imagine we could have walked out further but the wind was wild. Figured we stay safe and try for some jumbo perch. Got a mess of them and only fished till 9:30. Rolled one decent fish that was bigger than a perch but no hooks in him, plus forgot to tighten my drag so no hook set.
Any news on decent ice anywhere else other than potters? I doubt it but anyone out off massassauga point or that area? I just want some fish to ease the fishin itch a bit, something more than perch.
