How long does that cloud last? And will it mess up the image on your flasher or sonar?

would not drop it right below your sonar the bubbles it gives off with most likely screw up your return signal I would drill a hole just a few feet away and should work fine also probably depends on current and depth of water. a camera would work ok

Interesting video. How would it be used while trolling for salmon? Seems like ideal application would be stationary fishing.

They are $10 per container of 3

Apparently they have been selling off the shelves at Bass pro and other store in the TO area. It seems interesting....how effective is it if you got current?

Threw one of these out on a night shore fish in the fall and got a few walleye after a slow few nights out. Thought it was these that did the trick.. after a couple hours i tossed two more out and nothing. was not quite sure so i bought another pack and went out again. Threw 2 out over a couple hours and nothing again. Saved one for the ice to watch with my camera but have not got out yet. I think in deep still water they will attract some fish in or at least could attract some bait fish in which in turn will bring in the predators. Will have to wait and see but i don't expect any magic to happen. By most of the reviews i read i see a lot of people claiming them to be nothing but a gimmick, some saying they were doing better before trowing one out. in my opinion if you are in the right spot and the fish are there, they are there and these wont help. if you are not in the right spot these may catch the attention of a passer by and give you a chance.

To answer the questions above, They last around 40 minutes to an hour but in still water they will leave sparkling scales around the bottom that you can bounce your lure in to stir them back up. No to trolling and no to current. They throw up shad scales and tiny air bubbles, if you have current or are moving they would be useless. If you drop them down they may help the guy down the current from you though.

Here are some reviews of the product.

I own a bait shop in Orangeville and have sold and used this stuff for a couple years. To answer a couple questions, they last about 30-40 mins, longer in cooler water. If you use a sonar, your screen will go black because of the bubbles. The best formula i have used is the Tournament (now called Shad) because of the silver flakes. As for the comment of 'Don't throw anything in our lake' this stuff is 100% biodegradable and is no worse than dumping your old worms overboard or chumming the hole with salted minnows. Simcoe Lakers and whities love this stuff. For the walleye, it brings in the baitfish, which in turn brings in the 'Wallys' . And just to qualify, I am a Quinte guy. Have had a cottage on Hay Bay for over 20yrs just east of the Bayshore boat launch..
