I have noticed on facebook that charter eyes has posted that they will not any longer take people out on the ice due to a close call somewhere near Belleville i am assuming . I am planning on coming to Belleville this weekend ,where would be the safest ice conditions for me to fish ,or should i just stay home? What about Potters creek and Wellers bay?

Thanks

nubo

Belleville areas have tightened up and people are all over. Stick to the areas you know like potters if you are unsure but please be safe and still check as you go!!!

Couple huts were out Sunday morning on Wellers but with that being said I went Monday Morning and I believe the high winds opened up a large pressure crack roughly 100 yards out and ice is very spotty. Definitely spud required as well as wouldn't recommend anyone to go on there own. Could potentially tighten back up with some good cold weather but Wellers is spotty for sure. Wood huts were out in one area but I did not go down to view that area since it was not an area that I feel provides good opportunity for multiple fish days. Potters has been the one area that has been fairly consistent.
