There's walleye out there, "there" being the key word, ya just gotta search them out. There's alot of water to cover. Go through the old posts and do ur homework on walleye. As for where the fish are today or this week? You'll have better luck finding a three legged pole dancer...

I fished off snake last weekend. Not too far from the wood hut out there. Got one eye at 2lbs. A week earlier got 2 same area. They bit a silver 3/4 oz buckshot tipped with 2-3 minnows and jigged fairly aggressively in 2' lifts and stopping once in a while letting the lure come to rest about 18" off bottom. The perch are relentless and you just have to ignore them and keep jigging. Once in a while the perch suddenly disappeared and likely walleye are close by causing them to take off. I've mostly been fishing afternoon and always seems the eyes start biting right at dark. You mentioned you're new to the area so just wanted to be sure you realize the narrow area east of snake is refered to as rush bar( green marker). Be very cautious in that area as the ice can be very dangerous due to the stronger current created by the narrowing of the bay. Good luck
