Bring your wallets everyone. The County has gone nuts. Currently it's $6.00 to launch. How about $10.00 April 1st? Then $15.00 in 2018 and then $20.00 2019. Buy seasonal passes. Sure hope they allocate the funds directly to improving the facilities.

Thanks for sharing. Definitely worth it to buy the season pass. Any chance do you know of an online source to buy the season pass?

Not only bring your wallets...

Bring a traffic vest, whistle, and stop/go paddle to the Wellington beach side launch.

The county closed off half the parking down there! I can only imagine the log jam thats going to happen this summer.

Pay more for less. Seems to be the way

l looked on the County's web site and couldn’t find the link. Try calling the County at 613 476 2148 and ask for the rec and parks dept.

That is absolutely insane!!!
Wondering if they will have a place we can donate an arm and a leg?
Everything recreational has gone through the roof $$$ wise.

Yeah really, what's next? Toll booths on the way into the county? "well you want to come in and play, so we want to charge you for it! Enjoy your stay"

I think I would target some of the Councillors regarding this . Lots of other side benefits come from those bringing in boats. Maybe if some merchants who are about to lose some business might better contact them too.

It's absolutely insane how terrible recreational water access is treated in Ontario.

Go to Ohio. World class facilities with 4 paved launch pads and docks and parking for 100+ trucks and trailers... and it's free.

If I'm paying it needs to at least be maintained. The last time I launched at the beach side there were almost 2 fights and there were so many weeds it was clogging props.

I've been working with loyalist township to try to get improvements to finkles launch also.

I suspect these fees will be in effect at Picton launch as well so a season pass might be the way to go.

McFarland launch will become rather busy this summer. I wonder what a season pass will cost? I suspect close to hundred dollars.

its sad but I cant say I didn't see it coming a county resident with your tax bill should also come a launch permit and a bridge pass and make the outsiders pay to get in, and pay to play . its apparent the county board does not boat or fish and don't really care about county tax payers and for the record they have put up collection boxes in most the boat launches in the county and many of these launches are complete garbage where it would be hard to launch a 12 foot tinny let alone a fishing boat with any size to it ,,,,,,,, and then at best only the honest people pay to launch we are talking at best 2 out of every 10 boaters actually pay up.

ok we should look at it this way. last year a county pass was $65 and you could use it at 2 launches . Picton, and wellington .......... now the county put up collection boxes at other launches you never ever had to pay to launch at before.......... NOW they raise the rates to $75 because you get more bang for your buck ? you now can launch at 10 launches instead or 2 launches?? I'm reminded of the old saying.... Don't pee down my back, and tell me its raining.

I would hope CLOSSA might consider submitting a response to the increased fees. There are so many reasons I can think of that suggest this is wrong:
-the more you charge the fewer times people go
-fewer trips means fewer $$ spent in 'the county' for gas, equipment, food, camping etc

I'd really like to see their books on how much they cleared last year after paying people to pu box money. I'd like to see their forecast for 2017. Are their plans to use this money to improve the ramps. Really how many good ramps are there
??????. I'll bet the incoming funds were marginal.

My suggestion would be to waive all fees and take a look at the resulting tourism dollars coming in.

The other thing to do is request the statistics of the vote that took place to confirm the increase and target those Councilers to re consider.
