Anyone here a member of C-TOW and can chime in on their experiences ?

I was thinking of picking up a membership just for piece of mind when i am 20 KMs out on the big lake, but wasn't sure how their service is. $200 gives you unlimited tows back to port and service calls (dead battery/boost..etc). nearest port seems to be Mocean Marina near brighton.

Just talked to C-Tow and asked them why i wouldn't just call the C G. The C G usually calls them, and if you are not a member of C-TOW, they charge up to $240/hr to come get you. C-TOW for $225 has unlimited tows, break downs, maintenance, gas...etc / year. They say they cover all northern Lake Ontario.

Beats the price of convincing my wife to buy me a new kicker for a second motor.

If you happen to be a Canadian power and sail squadron member they will give you 33% off.

I am running C-Tow Quinte and I am based near Huffs at Long Reach...between Deseronto and Picton, on the east side of the Reach.

My boat is a 6.3m RHIB, ex-Coast Guard vessel that has been built for marine rescue and towing. On board I have ethanol-free fuel, diesel, two-stroke fuel, battery cables, battery booster, a selection of tools, lines for towing etc. etc.

You can call the C-Tow number to get registered or attend the TO Boatshow or Kingston Boatshow to get signed up.

If my bass boat was worthy for the big lake this sounds like an amazing deal for peace of mind.

Older post of mine, but i used CTOW last year and actually had to call them once when i had a dead battery down in big bay at 11pm. They were there if i needed them and said they would send someone out, but i got a boost from a passing boat luckily. Its a great peace of mind to have, specially if you fish the big like a lot like i do
