Quinte Fishing

I just ordered a Minn Kota Terrova 80 ( ) 24v, so now I'm about to search for some good value deep cycle batteries. Which brings me to my question... How the hell do I keep them charged at my slip? I have shore power available but I'm not sure about the adapters for long term use. I know there is an adapter out there (30a to 15a) with GFCI protection but I also know they aren't really intended to leave unattended and long term. I won't use the outboard enough to rely on a DC charger, and I doubt that solar is a good option as I will be using the boat often and I don't think they will keep up. Does anyone have a good, clean option?

Cool, thanks for the tips. My main problem is shore power to the onboard charger. The only thing I can think of is running an adapter, but I am worried that it may not be safe to leave out there full time. I'm going to speak with the marina staff and see what they think.

Slightly off topic but where did you order your new Terrova from?? and was it a good deal? I'm looking to upgrade from my Powerdrive 55.

If you don't trust the power supply at the dock, then you are either gonna have to pull the boat out of the water and bring the boat to a power source, or disconnect the batteries and take them out and bring them home with you to charge.
