Quinte Fishing

We finally made it out on Quinte for the first time this year. Put in at Deseronto Saturday about 9am. Park was full already with trailers but most had already launched so it wasn't too busy for us to put in. Launch was in great shape for any size boat to use.
Cool out on the water with whitecaps from the N/E winds that were gusting although they did slow down somewhat as the day progressed. Couldn't ask for a better wind direction on Quinte for walleye, aspecially right after a front had moved through (just kidding, eh).
Started with the tried and true Erie Dearie with a big gob of worm on it, switched to Blue Fox after a while. Fishing partner started with his fave, a Mepps Black Fury. Just a few light nibbles from perch, so soon switched over to the bottom bouncer with worm harness. Ended with 5 walleyes, 2 went back being around 12"-13" and the other 3 were kept for the pan, being about 15"-16", just under 2lb. Hooked a crap load of perch up to 10", as well as 4 or 5 smaller what I call silver bass, with 1 perch being smaller then a minnow you would use for pike fishing. Perch slayer is not a handle you want out walleye fishing but I guess you have to cull through the little buggers to get to the walleyes, knowing you are in their zone.
Only had the 1 bottom bouncer on board so my partner couldn't fish the same pattern and got the walleye skunk. Will be picking up a few more today for the next trip.
Fished anywhere from 7' up to 22' in the Deseronto Bay and up the Napanee River a few km with all walleye caught in 12'-20'. Didn't see many nets out, and from talking to some at the launch fishers as a whole were not as successful as they had been a few days before.
Didn't find too many weeds anywhere we fished, and still some bigger debris in the water so be carefull out there.

Thanks for the report. Nothing wrong with being. Perchslayer specially if you can get into the Jumbos.
