From reading the reports since opener it sounds like people are doing pretty good catching fish. Seems like most are trolling bouncers/harness.
Is anyone catching fish shallow throwing jigs or cranks?? Is anybody trying it??

I've been experimenting with different crank baits every time I get out, and haven't gotten anything (1 bass when I drifted too far out, and 1 pike when I was messing around in a different area). I've only gotten walleye on live bait so far. Jigs and minnows/leaches mostly.

I've tried husky jerks, tail dancers and shad raps in natural colours (perch) as well as brighter (hot chub) and even experimented with jigging raps and thrown a few rippin' raps. Nothing so far.

I'm going to keep trying and I'll let you know if things change! I love casting cranks so I'm hoping it eventually picks up maybe with warmer water?

there are a few guys I know on a jig bite in shallow. I luv casting but currently dealing with an injury so trying to cut back on the casting. i have no doubt they are there and probably better size too.
