The Ayr Sportsman had a great derby weekend fishing walleye in Big Bay out of Sunset Farms. Using mostly bottom bouncers and worm harnesses in 17'-21' of water produced great results on several year classes of walleye. Chartreuse seemed to be the top producer, but chrome also worked well when the sun was out. For the 31st year Sunset Farms provided us with great docking, accomodations, and hospitality. Can't wait to get back there and more fish frys. :D

Thanks Dan. Our largest fish in the derby was 24" caught by one of our youngest anglers. Prior to the derby starting there was a 25.5" caught. Most of the fish in our derby were 20 -23", lots of 17" -18", and lots of smaller fish. This year not 1 of our group caught a pike, but did get lots of sheephead, silver bass, and some real nice perch. The future looks very good for Quinte fisherman.
Ron :)
