Every bass ive kept so far this year has had atleast 1, 4-5inch bowfin/dogfish in its belly. Is this normal food for them? Ive never seen it before and its been the last 4 in a row. Also what lure would best mimic a baby bowfin? Been getting them on wacky worms but hey match the hatch ami right?

That's interesting, don't they kinda look similar to gobies? These should work...

I saw a bowfin the other day and the entire bottom side and fins were neon green. googled it and I guess that is the male spawning colors. looked pretty cool.

Recent lab work by Bruce Tufts and the Queen's University Dept have found that gobies represent about 40% of a bay of quinte largemouth diet.

100% bowfin guys! bony head with the elongated body, visable scales, toothy, froglike mouth, single fin along the body/tale. Very strange to see I thought goby at first as well

I didn't doubt they were baby bowfin. Just some suggestions of Gobie lures that also could mimic a bowfin.
