Anyone getting salmon yet out of Wellington on Scotch Bonnet shoal? with my 14 fter I can only get out a few days each season when wind is under 10 kms so want to make sure they're in before I try, which might be Thursday morn, weather depending. tks.

For next year... Plan on any time in July. Youve already missed a few weeks of salmon fishing

went out yesterday afternoon/evening and it was a graveyard. marked very few fish and only 1 boat out there that left early. Maybe they're gone already. Locals seem to know the area wasn't worth fishing, at least yesterday.

You picked a tough weekend to go. With the change in winds the temps and currents got stirred up. I was out Saturday, late start early finish. Managed 2, a 23 and a 10. Slow after that. The guys that stayed out ended up working shallower setups and getting into fish.

Had a short fish from noon till two today. Straight out from Wellington. Set up in 115FOW. Lots of bait and marks. Just two knock offs.
