anyone done any fishing around herchimer? was looking on maps to see where the launch was and see lots of weedy coves and possibly a pier coming out to the right of the launch directly down from the dugout? anyone fished the area and would it be a good spot to 1 take kida either at the launch or on the point/pier I saw or 2 go with a canoe on a clam day? thanks all in advance

Yes I have and Yes it is. Fishing has slowed down around there since the opener. I think since it's the only launch open, it gets a lot of boat traffic and also people just hit it first while they are there and beat that area so I think a lot of fish are shy now or have found somewhere else that's less busy.

dang okay thanks for the heads up. Anywhere else close where kids stand a decent chance of catching something bigger than a perch lol? Trenton dam or behind freshco, Meyers, glen ross etc trying to avoid driving all the way to near Kingston so the kiddos can catch a bass lol
