A late report but better than none. I haven't been on the bay much at all this summer with work and travels kedoing me away. I did manage to get out for a few hours a few days ago. I was looking for bass and did get a few but it was slow. I stopped at Whitlow pt to get out of the wind and just as I came off plane I noticed a ton of big hooks down deep just off the cane patch there. Dropped a jig and a few other lures but couldn't get em to bite. I then remembered I had a few jigging raps in the boat and gave that a go. Right off on first drop I hit a 13lb drum. So I realized all the big hooks were drum. I stayed and played with them for an hour and caught 6 or so of them. I didn't weigh any more but they were all about the same size. It was fun on 6lb test. Nearly all of them inhaled the rap. Dont know if they are still there or not but if you're in the area and see some really big hooks in the deep water of there that's what they are

might just have to go give it a try! Ontario record for drum was apparently broken twice this year on quinte so itd be exciting to see just how big we can get them!

Whitlow Point is the first point East of Thompson's Point, on the South side of Hay Bay.
