Wondering if anyone has fished in these tiny lakes before? They are near to some of my family and ive fished in several near them (Varty and Camden) but never tried these and cant find any info on google. Even just what species are in there would be nice!

I can personally confirm some are loaded with bass pike and even the odd pickerel. I have even heard someone say trout in the one but don't quite believe that one!

I assume your taking about the lakes off Cty. Rd 41. If those are the lakes, then I've fished them a couple of times. The lakes are on the west side and are little Mellon.

Never caught a bass, caught some small perch, small pike and a couple of walleye under slot size.

Pretty spot if you like scenery. I wouldn't say they're worth dragging a boat to for keeper fish. There's a beaver dam separating the two lakes that you have to pull over. There is a good gravel ramp and there use to be a dock. The washrooms are gone and I think the dock is too.

You use to be able to access Big Mellon on the east side which is much bigger.

Caught a few bass over there.

The only public access is pulling in at the Dark Sky exit and turning south on the old highway. There's a rough ramp there only suitable for a small boat and you'll need 4x4 to use it. The channel goes east under the highway to Big Mellon.

Last time I was there, which was a few years ago, there was a beaver dam under the bridge that you'd have to pull your boat over.

You travel the channel to the lake and just as you get to the lake there's a big bald rock. Careful around there. Lots of rocks to smash you prop on.

It's and adventure and pretty.

Good luck.
