Finally made it out Friday evening to wash some lures, we ended up with 3 walleye, 2 1/2,3 1/2, and 1 just over 6 lbs. All were caught trolling sticks in 10-15 feet of water. Marked lots deeper but no interest was shown by them.
Buddy lost his favorite walleye diver to something hungry, he barely even felt the bite before it was gone. No fish until well after dark, seemed slow for the other boats out there.
The 6+lber was under 24", looked more like a brown then a walleye,but still had an empty belly.
All 3 were delicious as expected.

Good report thanks for sharing. If you don't mind what was your trolling speed and did you play with speed?

I didn't see the exact speeds, but we were mostly in the 1.5 knot per hour range with a bit of turning following contour lines so lure speeds were changing. 1 larger boat in particular looked to be doing at least 2.5kph if not faster, almost looked to be searching more then fishing, but maybe that's what works for them. All 3 were caught trolling west to east and on the northwest side of the shoal.

Made it back out Friday evening for another kick at the can, went 2 for 4. Fished both sides of the shoal, most marks were in 20-30 foot depths but they wouldn't bite. Had all the hits in 12'-8' of water with a little 4" Rapala in black/gold being the winner. Tried other cranks including Smithwicks, walleye divers and Husky Jerks in assorted colors with no success. All 5 fish the last 2 times out as well as knockoffs have been caught trolling from west to east, with no hits going the other way, so needless to say we were pulling the pin at the end of our runs and running back to our start point at the west end to start over. 3 other boats out, talked to one that had no luck, he was using cranks as well as worm harnesses with no fish to show except for some gobies he turned into chum. Checked boat speed a few times, it was showing about 1.8 knots going west and 2.1 going east on average
Heading to Buckhorn next weekend for a boys weekend, should be a hoot as we have never fished there before. WLYK how it turns out.
On a side note if anyone has any tips or even secret locations they want to give up for Upper Buckhorn that would be great lol

good luck at buckhorn ive got a tonne an inch or two under slot and a few waaaaayyy over there this year. very tricky to find keepers either 1 lb or 6+ on that lake it seems lol
