Not easy on the transmission. Can anyone recommend another launch site in similar area that has parking and is a bit easier to launch and also that may be open into December?

Are you saying you launched at glenora marina or the ferry? There's a launch at the ferry on the east side that is good. It's steep but a steel grate so smooth to pull out. I launch my 19' there often.
Could also launch right in Picton harbour which is the best ramp in the area
