Started walking out on the ice by 6:30. Very glad I brought my spud with me. The first wet looking area I saw as i was walking turned out to be frozen solid. Keep walking and see another area appeared to be wet but it too was frozen solid. The next area looked just a bit different so I hit it with the spud and I hear cracking all around me. Yikes!! Back up and pop a hole and its barely 3". Back up another 50 paces and it's 4". Stayed there and started fishn. Had a limit by 8:30 with one more fish around 9am. Everything between 2-4 lbs. Shiver minnow, the big one, along with a buckshot and pimple all worked. Be careful out there!

Yeah exact GPS coordinates please, along with spoon colour, size and presentation, so we know to stay away from there! ;)

I always wondered if whacking weak ice with a spud could be the thing to actually put you through lol.

I need to get away from Potters this winter and hopefully have a few successful days.

LOL I was making a joke, didn't expect you to get so defensive. It's Dec 29th, I'm sure there are many, many areas where the ice is bad/"on and off".
