Quinte Fishing

Good news and bad. Fished from 1:00 to 4:30. Windy and cold.

The ice seems pretty solid. Drilled 4 holes to 3/4 across the Reach all consistent 8 inches. Looked like a couple of wet spots further west but probably good.
A pleasant surprise was little snow and easy walking.

Lots of shacks out.

34 ft, wanted shallower but stayed put. Marked lots of schools of fish. Snagged a perch so that's probably it. Marked bigger fish but no takers.

One dedicated soul, middle of the Reach sitting in a chair back to the wind. They caught a nice one at 4:30. Well deserved.

Quite a few people parking in the field, nice to see. Some parking on the road. Napanee By-Law was down but didn't write tickets. Must have been out. Probably come back in the near future.

Was up at Beaver yesterday. Lots of Ice and snow. Used snowshoes to get around. Tough sled pulling. Too windy to set up.

Try again after the freeze.

Thanks Roblin. That was me in the chair. Weighed it when I got home 5.5 lbs. I enjoyed talking to yous on the ice. Maybe see you out there again sometime. Next time I will be in a shack

Yes it was a good day. Caught 1 and missed one. Marked lots of perch at 34 fow and had a couple walleye every hour look but not bite. Was off ice by noon.
