Tried a new spot out yesterday away from the crowds and it turned out to be a good spot. Setup in 18.5 Fow by 1 pm , and within 20 mins I marked 1, by 2pm I had a nice 4 lber on the ice. They would come in waves , but the best time was still between 4-5 pm . I didn't land any tanks, but I went 4-7 and marked some big ones that I couldn't get to commit. All my fish were caught on 3/4oz macho minnow , they weren't interested in my jiggin rap this time. The ice where I fished was 6" black with 1" white, and it was the first time I was out this year that the water wasn't coming out the hole and the bite was pretty aggressive since I only marked around 12 fish or so. I can't wait for my next outing , but gotta refill my propane first, had to have the heater on full for a bit yesterday.

its nice to try different areas, u ever try the rattle baits? Been having great luck this year on the live target. They have been inhaling them. Couple caught were a two man job getting the bait out..

Yeah I always have a rod setup with a lindy darter on it and use it for a call in kinda bait. They don't always get attention , but when the fish want them they smash them . Haven't had any hits on it this year yet, but hopefully next time.
