Anybody know what they're catching on little Mellon lake? Saw a bunch of huts from the highway when I was driving by.

Small walleye, perch and pike. Last year I was there and found several under slot size walleye skins left on the ice. The pike are hammer handles and the perch are small.

It is a pretty spot. I did catch a couple of walleye well under slot size. Pretty skinny on keepers.
I had the best luck to the north west off the rock island.

Careful to the south east. Water flows from under the bridge and the ice is thin.
I think it's a nice place to take the kid's. I wouldn't go there looking for a meal.

Thanks for the heads up. As I'd be driving from Brighton probably give it a pass. Just curious. The bigger lake looks more promising but I've no idea how to access it. Takes a lot to pull me away from quinte anyway

There isn't ice access to the big lake. The only way in, is parking on the west and going under the bridge to the east and it never freezes hard.
I use to be able to get over with a boat, but a beaver built a dam under the bridge.
The only access now is private. Lucky for them.

If I can get on Quinte, I wouldn't go anywhere else either.
